Today was the start of the training process for the tomatoes...the first pictures are the before, the next are after. We have been told numerous times that this method is strange. It is for tomatoes grown outside, usually this method is used in greenhouse growing. This process does reduce the production of the single plant, however we are able to fit more plants in a smaller space, which kind of makes up for that downfall. On the upside, this training helps prevent disease, because nothing but the stem ever touches the ground and the leaves are pruned high enough that soil does not usually splash up on the plant when it rains.
