Each year, the Texas 4000 riders stop in Lubbock on their way from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska. These University of Texas students are part of the world’s longest annual charity bike ride, completing a journey of more than 4,000 miles while raising funds and sharing hope, knowledge, and charity in the fight against cancer. We are honored to host them at McPherson Cellars, giving them a place to rest, shower, eat, and recharge before heading back out on the road.
This cause runs deep for our family. Cancer has shaped our story in ways that make this work feel personal, and supporting these riders is one of the most meaningful things we get to do each year. Kim’s daughter and Katelyn’s sister Kassandra is a proud UT alum and a member of our team, and this partnership has always held a special place in our hearts. We have welcomed the Texas 4000 riders to McPherson Cellars every year since 2009, and it never gets old.
This year, we’re raising funds to provide dinner and a grab-and-go breakfast for the 25 riders during their stay. After long days of biking, a warm meal and a place to regroup can make a huge difference.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go directly toward supporting the riders during their stop in Lubbock. Thank you for helping us support these incredible students and the mission they’re riding for.
We invite you to join us for our “Meet the Riders” Happy Hour at the winery on May 20th from 5–7pm. Everyone is welcome!
