I’ve been a little busy lately with life outside of the chicken coops so here’s a little update. I spent the last couple of days mixing up my 2 Olive Egger coops. All the greens pictures are now under my Hollyoaks rooster that doesn’t have the blue egg gene. Their offspring will have a 50/50 chance of Olive or Brown eggs hopefully with gorgeous speckles. If they don’t have speckles, I’ll eventually put them under a welsummer rooster. The brown eggs pictured are now under my Hollyoaks rooster that is O/O, meaning he has 2 blue egg genes. 100% of their offspring will have olive eggs, hopefully with speckles. I will wait about a month and put some of these babies into the incubator. It will be July before they start laying. If anything, this processes is teaching me patience! 😳🤪

I put this Appenzeller Spitzhauben to sleep by rubbing her head 😂. Fun fact: their dots can come together just right to make it look like hearts. You can see some hearts on the 2nd picture when the rooster crowed and woke her up. 😍😍😍
