Ok friends of Bold Coast Seaweed. Sad news is we are suspending our organic certification with OCIA. Our labels will no longer say " organic USDA. We can however ship 400 units out of state and do unlimited shipments within the state of Maine without being USDA. We just need to manage how we wil do that, and will probably only be selliing bulk orders of 5 pounds of kombu priced competitively for 20 dollars a pound. That gives us revenue going out of state maximum of 8,000 $ per year. We just need our customers to preorder in advance of harvest. Harvest will be for kombu. Our dulse model will be different. We will see how this years harvest goes. We will keep you posted. The wild Alaria beds that we were harvesting have disappeared due to unknown reasons , the Maine department of Marine resources has been notified . So a big change for us as our Alaria was our biggest selling product and was supplying Warnik foods who was using our alaria as an ingredient in MRE s for our troops.
