Thank you to everyone for your support of the Scott family following the loss of Sonny Scott, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. It has been humbling to see the outpouring of love and support from people that Sonny impacted during his life. All of the food, flowers, and memorials in his memory are so appreciated. We have also been touched from the many calls, visits, texts, and posts from friends and colleagues remembering Sonny and the examples he set for our family to live by.

As we move forward, we ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Recently, Scott Farms' Linwood and Dewey Scott spoke with Fox News reporter Austin Westfall on the highly publicized supply chain issues and the impact on this year's sweet potato crop. They also spoke about how it translates to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

The below article and video offer insight to the ever-changing landscape of agricultural production.

Over 65% of U.S. sweet potatoes are harvested in North Carolina, according to the NC SweetPotato Commission. But will supply chain issues and shipping delays make them more expensive this Thanksgiving? Possibly not.

Only four crops on the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services produce availability chart stretch across all 12 months of the year: collards, peanuts, herbs, and sweet potatoes. (Or sweetpotatoes, as the NC SweetPotato Commission prefers to call them.) The soil and climate of our Coastal Plain have made us the indisputable champions of the not-yam. According to the commission, our state has ranked No. 1 in sweet potato production for 50 years, cultivating more than half of the nation’s supply. In November, we celebrate the tubers that sustain us year-round — many from family-run operations like Scott Farms in Wilson County — with sweet potato pie.

A be-"Witch"ing good time from "Wonderland" to "Yellowstone" this "Halloween". Even the "Big Bad Wolf" couldn't "Rob" the "Three Little Pigs" of the opporunity to "Clown" around a bit as "Little Red Riding Hood" was "Mooooo"ving on to grandma's house.

As they say, all work and no play would make Scott Farms a very dull place!
