The time has come. We have sold our farm. We have these wonderful goats and Great Pyrenees who have guarded them who need a new home.
Our goats are Alpine dairy crosses. We have 4 does in milk. Luna, Edith, Angela and Aggie, 2 spring does, Merida and Maudy (bottle baby) and 1- 2 yr doe, Monday who is dry currently.
We have 3 spring buck wethers Macintosh, Hubert, and Wee Dingwall
We have 2 breeding bucks, Angus, 3, who is purebred French alpine. He was a bottle baby so he is super friendly and easy going. His son, Gunther who's 1 and also very friendly.
All of our goats are handled daily and quite frankly, most of the day by our 8 year-old. They will do what ever she asks them to and never sass her.
Our goats all have horns. We came to this decision after having several disbuddings go wrong (done by vets). We are happy with this decision. Our goats are friendly and easy to handle. We now refer to horns as "goat handles" which make life easier. If you have ever tried wrangling a goat without horns, who isn't in the mood, you know what I'm talking about.
The goats certainly have value but I'm only interested in them going to good farms. They can either go as a whole heard or 1 by one. If you're new to goats or hooved animals (ungulates) they need to have at least 1 like pasture mate.
If your interested in the Pyrenees, please see the post below.
