Taking Freezer Beef Orders.
Freezer beef is the most economical way to purchase beef. It will also give you the customer control over how the beef is cut.
The price is $4.50 per pound on the hanging weight. Processing typically costs $0.60 per pound.
Freezer beef can be purchased by the whole, the half, or the quarter.
Quarter beef are mixed quarters. Meaning you will receive cuts from the front and back of the beef. You will receive a portion of all the cuts.
If you desire liver, heart, tongue, tail, or other organs. Please specify when ordering.
Beef Weights are on average; every animal is different.
Whole beef 800-1000 pounds hanging weight.
Freezer space required on average.
35 pounds of beef = I cubic foot of freezer space.
Whole beef= 24-28 cubic feet of freezer space
Half beef= 12-14 Cubic feet of freezer space
Quarter beef= 5-7 Cubic feet of freezer space.
Hanging weight is the weight of the steer after harvest and cleaning while it hangs on the butcher's rail.
The net weight received after processing will be less than the hanging weight.
Due to the removal of bone and fat and tendons aka the "trimmings".
Bones and suet can be retained upon request.
