So last Sunday I went to this amazing sourdough class given by my good friend Suzy Provine at Farm Girl Bakery .

We learned so much in the class and I've made lots of notes and walked away with a lot of useful tools and starter + bread already baked and some ready to take home to bake. This is my first delayed attempt at baking. I will say Dad due to circumstances beyond my control. They ended up proofing longer than they should and that's why they are a little less tall. We'll call it.

Welcome to Two Women and an Acre! 🌿✨

​Anyone who says you need a hundred acres to run a working farm has never seen what two women with a dream can do with a single, dedicated acre!
​Yes, we are right in the middle of a neighborhood, surrounded by conifer acres, but we are officially registered with the South Carolina Department of Agriculture as a living, working micro-farm. 🌾

​We both still manage full-time careers, so we are growing this dream from the ground up, step-by-step. This page is where we will share our journey, our harvests, and everything we are learning along the way. Whether you have a massive homestead or just a few pots on a patio, we want to show you what’s possible.

​Our focus is on the magical, natural, and sustainable side of agriculture:
​Tinctures & Topical Potions: Handcrafted, small-batch herbal remedies and skin-loving botanicals. (Yes, it sounds a little mysterious—and we love it that way!)
​Signature Tea Leaves: We are currently building and blending our very own custom tea brand.
​Classes & Community: In the coming months, we’ll be hosting local classes on canning, preserving, and the art of seasonal South Carolina foraging.

​🍅 The "Adopt-a-Bed" Experience
​Want to grow your own food but worried about the upkeep? We are launching an exclusive 4x4 and 4x8 Raised Bed Rental program! You get to come out, tend your bed, and capture beautiful photo ops with your plants. When life gets busy or you're away, we step in to oversee and care for your garden. Then, when harvest season rolls around, you come out to gather your bounty!

​🚜 Navigating the Business of Farming
​If we can do this, you can too! If there’s interest, we are going to pull back the curtain and walk you through the entire business side of farming, including:
​How to set up your agricultural LLC.
​Who to register with for official farm status.
​How to secure your SCATE card for tax-free farm purchases.
​How to apply for agricultural grants (like the ones we used for our high wind tunnels and drip irrigation systems!).

​🌿 Things might start slow as we find our rhythm, but the soil is rich and the future is bright. We are so incredibly glad you are here for the journey.

So as we start coming into blackberry season, I thought I would share this little helpful tip. If you or someone you know kids or husband Snicker Snicker eat too many blackberries. The little hairs that are actually on the blackberry can cause intestinal upset and in turn cause upset stomach. But did you know that the actual blackberry plant provides the cure? For this? Simply take a few of the younger leaves and make a tea out of it and have them drink the tea and it will cure their upset stomach.
