Let’s talk double yolks 😊 A double yolk egg is supposedly super rare only occurring once per 1,000 eggs. We have two hens that lay double yolks pretty often. The green one as you see here is from a younger hen and we also have an older hen that lays a blue one pretty consistently. Rarely do we get a normal blue egg from her.
What is a double yolk? It’s just what it is called. It’s an egg with two yolks and they are usually double the size of a normal egg. I usually don’t sell them because they do not fit in my cartons at all so those go straight to the fridge for our family meals. 🍀🌈
