This chapter is officially closed. The last goat is gone; we are now only doing raw cow’s milk.
I’ve had a few people ask me if we will still be able to provide goat milk soap and lotion.
Absolutely!
Here’s the thing. I decided to simplify. There’s no need to feed, deworm, trim hooves, change out bedding, worry about kids surviving and pay emergency vet bills just so I can have the milk for soap and lotion. That wasn’t worth it! Not when I can drive five minutes up the road and pay $10 for a gallon of goat’s milk from another farmer (who loves doing all of that) and turn their milk into soap and lotion.
So for now, that’s the plan! 
I expected to be a bit more sad about no longer being one of the name’s in the hat as a farm for purebred miniature Nubian goats. But I am not. And that was confirmation for me. It was time ✌️
