(This person recently contacted me to buy an alpaca in one sentence and my horse in the next sentence... time was of the essence!)

I am on day 4 of caring for a newborn cria. She was cold, abandonded by her momma, had abrasions on both eyes ( unwitnessed birth by about 30 min.. must have rubbed her face/eyes on the stall mat), small, and no desire to get up at all. Gaaah! Soooo, I got her scooped up and into the house to get her temp up..it was 93F. This took awhile, but finally at normal temp within 5 hours. Then to flush her eyes and treat them. Next feeding...thank goodness I had just picked up my annual bucket of dairy colostrum the night before all this!
It has been round the clock care for this little one, but she is making great strides! She was up and walking at 36 hours, eyes clearing by day 3 and she even spent time in the barn with momma twice. While mom isn't "accepting" her yet, she will stand when haltered and let the cria drink with assistance from me. We will keep trying this every day and hope it works. Needless to say...I am exhausted, but it is worth it. She is a beautiful cria!!

I'm a little behind on posting, but I want to send a huge congratulations to Holly & Todd Jacobs on the arrival of this gorgeous little female on May 30!! She is out of ### Lexie of Honey Maple Farms and sired by H & S Independence. Thank you for trusting in our breeding program. I am excited to see how she grows up!!

Headed back home from the AOA National Alpaca Show in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We took 2 juvie girls and they did pretty well, considering they were both the youngest in their class.
We are extremely proud of our girl, Honey Maple's Macy Grey, who is now our VERY FIRST National Reserve Champion!! (Walking Fleece, Roan/Grey Female)
Her fleece is pretty special and the judge gave us wonderful comments about it!! We are so excited about our Macy girl!

Our Galentine's Celebration with The Strawberry Tree Shop and Tearoom was a hit! Yes, we braved the wind and cold, and brought the love of alpacas to adults and kids alike!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to feed the alpacas and get a few selfies! We were happy to share the day with you!
