My husband brought home flowers for the passing of my grandfather- my oldest hands them to me and says “mommy maybe we can go put these on his headstone”. These kids hearts are pure gold I swear ❤️ farming is a constant reminder of the importance of life and loving those around you because you never know when it’s your time.

We have had chickens for eggs for over 6 years now, and I will never get tired of seeing the unique colors of each egg. What a great reminder today of Gods plan for each living thing, each made in His image. So grateful for our chickens producing for us to be able to eat nutritious eggs without artificial crap in it/on it, around it ❤️

Any other farmers wear their work clothes while farming? Sometimes putting overalls on just is too much work 😂 so changing waters with my work dress on it is :). We also add a little apple cider vinegar, organic to their water. All the livestock get it. We drink it too ! Helps with sticky butt in baby chicks as well. Happy Tuesday to all!

Warning- processing meat photos. This was a bittersweet moment on our farm. Processing days are always a little sad. Even as much as I try to keep some emotional distance from our animals for food, we still care for them, and see them day in and day out. I still believe this is the best way if you’re going to eat meat, to be connected to the process. We haven’t involved our kids in the processing, we talk about it and they know we eat the animals and we thank them for the food we get when we pray.. but Payton wandered over to Joe when he was processing and he was genuinely interested in the process & wanting to help. It’s such a proud moment as a parent knowing we are teaching our kids invaluable skills that they can chose to use or not, but being able to know how to process your own food and care for yourself is such an important skill. At what age do you include your children in the processing of animals? We have let the process happen naturally not wanting to force it on them but I’m curious what others do.
