The legacy wall at Fleming Mountian Grill is always an eye catcher. This display is more than a conversation starter, it is a tribute to the entire Mitchell Family whose reputation is known throughout Lynchburg for decades of serving the community with groceries, hardware, animal feed, fuel, deli products and their iconic Southern fried chicken. When Mitchell’s Country Store closed in 2014, the family kept the famous fried chicken recipe that Lynchburg loved so much. In 2023, when Fleming Mountain Grill opened, the Mitchell Family shared the recipe with us and their chicken returned to Lynchburg after an eight year absence. Not only is FMG now known for our 1920’s Collection Black Angus Ribeyes and Filets, we now proudly carry on the tradition of the Mitchell Family as we serve Mitchell’s Original Recipe Fried Chicken both on our menu and at our walk-up take out window.
