This week students at E.C. Glass High School and Heritage High School got creative by mixing and matching seasoning blends to customize their meals and make every bite their own with the introduction of our new Flavor Stations! 🍽️

Starting Monday, students at EC Glass and Heritage High Schools can take school lunch to the next level with our NEW Flavor Stations!

Six seasoning blends. Lots of possibilities. Students can add a little—or a lot—to customize their meal and find the flavor that’s just right for them.

Exciting AND essential! 🍎🥕🥛

In September, Lynchburg City Schools Nutrition served an incredible 81,865 breakfasts and 108,580 lunches to our students!

That’s 190,445 meals fueling students for learning, growth, and everything their school day brings. Every meal represents more than a number—it’s a student with access to the nutritious food they need to learn, focus, and thrive.

We’re proud of our School Nutrition teams who make it happen every single day. 💙💛

🥞 Breakfast participation is soaring at Dunbar Middle School!

By making breakfast easier to grab on the way into school—and letting students enjoy it in the classroom with friends—participation jumped from 22% to 48% in just ONE WEEK! 📈

That means more than twice as many students are starting their day with a nutritious breakfast and ready to learn. 🍎📚

Lunch participation has climbed above 65%, surpassing last year’s record of 64%! 🏆

Our Heritage High School Nutrition team is focused on serving a variety of flavorful foods students are excited to see on the menu — and students are responding!

The DMS School Nutrition Team has knocked it out of the park these past two days — BBQ Chicken yesterday and specialty pizzas today, created by Head Cook Felicia Rose! 🍕

Great food doesn’t just happen. It takes creativity, skill, and a team that cares about what they’re serving our students. Way to go, Dunbar! 👏
