For our August Chapter Member we want you to get to know Chef Marisa Goodman (now Karkoff). This is what she wants you to know:

I have been in the culinary industry for over 16 years, with experience in both culinary education and professional kitchens. While teaching Culinary Arts as an adjunct at Lorain County Community College, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education, which led me to become a Science Teacher at Steel City High School. I am now entering my third year at Steel City while continuing to teach LCCC’s student-run restaurant course.

Throughout my career, the ACF has been an important source of guidance, support, and lifelong friendships. I am grateful for the connections and opportunities this chapter has provided and look forward to continuing to support and participate in the ACF for many years to come.

Chefs Gabrielle Zalecky and Brittnee Rourke teamed up with Food Strong today for a demo! Students learned about principles of Asian cuisine, followed by a hands on cooking session to make bibimbap and a green smoothie featuring Asian pear. Great work today, Chefs!
