This Labor Day weekend we are open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 9-5.

The following weekends will be Saturday and Sunday 9-5.

The heat will not affect these hours. The apple crop is a bit limited this year due to the late frost, so we suggest coming early to grab the best apples! They store for weeks in the fridge- especially the Honeycrisp 😉

There’s something so magical about the oldest section of orchard— full size apple trees are a rare sight. I recently watched a documentary about the origin of apple trees. The wild apple orchards in the mountains of Kazakhstan reminded me of ours. A callback to their native roots.

While walking through these majestic trees feels straight out of a fairytale, there are logistical challenges. It’s difficult to reach them to properly prune and the apples are so high they are hard to reach even with a ladder.

That’s why we are adding in new phases to the orchard with compact, easy to reach trellised trees! These produce a more consistent yield with high quality fruit. Don’t worry, the large trees will be there to stroll through and experience the magic.

🌽🌽🌽Sweet corn season is finally here! Get the first of the season Thursday July 23rd at the Bettendorf Farmer's Market from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Sweet Corn Variety: "Kickoff"
This is a tender and sweet early variety, but the kernels are not as deep as our full season varieties, therefore, it will not yield as much finished product if you are cutting it off to freeze. Full season varieties will be coming soon!

Come early, as this will sell fast!

Bob and Lora’s daughter, Mary here! 👋

We hardly ever post about the hard work happening behind the scenes, but I wanted to share a little bit about the exciting things going on at the farm!

- A couple weeks ago Bob and Lora planted over 300 new apple trees! They are dwarf varieties, making it easier to reach fruit and the small trees produce apples that ripen more evenly. There are a few new varieties, so stay tuned 👀

- The farm store transformation is also continuing to take shape. We soft launched the apple c***r donuts last year and plan to do even more this season!

- Apparel! We will have more farm shirts and possibly other things if there is any interest. Comment below what you’d like to see!
