Windy Meadows is a family owned farm situated on just under 100 acres in Southwestern Indiana. We have Belted Galloway cattle, chosen for their low maintenance and docile natures. We offer premium Beltie beef, which is processed at a USDA inspected facility and blast frozen and double wrapped for freshness. Call or message to be placed on our waiting list for freezer beef! We also have a small farm market where we stock individual cuts of beef as available. Registered Belted Galloway cattle available, with several award winning bloodlines, including National Champions and Platinum lifetime award winning cattle.

Who knew?? I just saw something about it being National Feral Cat Day….fitting since today these sweet little fur babies are being released into the rest of the barn after their two week acclimation period to their new home.

Bear, the yellow one will somewhat tolerate a few gentle pets, but the girls have yet to warm up! Maybe in time, but for now they will just be admired from a distance while hopefully learning I’m a safe soul they can trust!

At least here you can finally see Angel’s little face! She’s the one on the left in the photo of the two girls! Sure hope they decide to stick around!

We are sold out of eggs for the day, but look 👀 what we DO have in the shop….

We currently have golden delicious, crimson crisp, and w**e crisp in 4 lb bags, and we also have a few 10 lb. bags of utility apples, which are great for baking! 🥧 These are delicious apples from some great folks!

Had a great morning at the Lynnville Maker’s Market! Great visiting with so many familiar faces and some new ones as well. Thanks for all your support. We still have a few goodies left from the market if you want to grab before the rain sets in….☔️

Also…..I know it’s only October, but now is the time we are collecting items for Operation Christmas Child! This is a great way to spread some joy this season and make a difference in a child’s life! Boxes are available in the shop along with instructions on how to fill them. Bring them back here by Oct. 31 and I’ll make sure they get to a pickup location if you’d like to participate! 🎅🏻🎄

Yay!! We are finally back in stock with beef!! 😄🥩🍔 And we have made some changes that we thought you’d like…

🍔 We are excited to now offer 90/10 lean ground beef!!

🥩 Our beef will now be vacuum sealed so you can not only see the product, but should stay fresher in the freezer!

🐝 We also are thrilled to have our fall re-stock of Loughrie’s local raw honey!! 🍯

🍎 Apple pie jam is back (made with local apples) and over the next week I’ll be adding more flavors of jam to the shelves.

We have some new “employees” at the farm! 😻😻😻

Meet Secret Bear (or “Bear” as we now call him), Gentle Heart Lamb (aka “Angel”- who was too shy to show her pretty face 😅),
Harmony Bear (aka “Monet”…she looks like a pretty painting! 🎨)

These three were adopted from It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue (itvrescue) and will spend the next couple weeks getting used to their new environment in their enclosure before assuming their new duties on mouse patrol! They will have as much love as they want here and hopefully live the rest of their lives in a peaceful setting, with shelter and food and a place to call home!

PLEASE, PLEASE….if you own cats or dogs, be responsible and have them spayed or neutered!!!! There are SO MANY out there in shelters in cages needing homes! And if you are looking for a new pet….check out shelters FIRST! Ok, I’ll get off my soapbox now! 😬

🤦🏻‍♀️ Free range hens in the hay loft….can only mean one thing, gonna have to go on an Easter egg hunt this evening! 😅 Sometimes we get an adventurous one that like to think outside the box….the nest box that is!

Update: SOLD!

I can’t believe no one has snatched this heifer up yet!

Windy meadow Dixie is a fully registered (52567-B) heifer that is a half sib to our 2021 Indiana State Fair champ Belted Galloway heifer. DOB 10/9/25. She is out of our most prolific and easy calving cow and sired by Eckelman’s Ferdinand, a son of Sunnybrook Soprano. She is only going to get better! To look this well conditioned with minimal grain inputs is amazing. She has sound Belted Galloway genetics in her pedigree and is definitely one for those that want to improve their herds and preserve high quality cattle within the breed. This one is definitely not your average sale barn quality curiosity, for those that just like them because they are “cute”. She is backed by sizable cattle that are built for beef production. She could also be a solid addition for any show string. Located in SW Indiana.

Just posting a few more animals looking for new pastures. Other than the heifers, the others have been exposed and should be bred for either fall or spring calving.

1. Windy Meadow Dixie reg # 52567-B, 10-9-25 calf, sired by Eckelman’s Ferdinand (son of Sunnybrook Soprano), she is half sib to our 2021 Indiana State Fair champ belted heifer.

2. Windy Meadow Noel, reg # 52571-B, also sired by Eckelmans Ferdinand. Dam is Countyline Ida, another beautiful and successful show cow (see photo below) and our most docile in our herd. Either of these heifers would be great for use in the show ring or in the pasture.

3. Needmore Acres Domino reg # 37549-B dob 11-9-13. Has been one of our most reliable dams, don’t discount this matriarch due to age, she has many years still ahead of her! One of her daughters was Indiana State fair champ in 2021. Should be bred back to Eckelman’s Ferdinand for fall 26

4. Windy Meadow Fiesta. reg # 43468-B. Sired by Countyline Connor and dam was Stonesthrow Ubetcha. 2019 NAILE Jr. Champ heifer. One of a kind genetics in this one. Currently being exposed to Eckelman’s Diesel for spring 27 calving.
