🎃 Fall is in the air, and our autumn prep is officially underway! 🐐✨

We’re gearing up to head right down the road to Harvest Moon Pumpkin Patch for the upcoming season, and we’re bringing all the cozy farm-fresh goodness with us.

Here's two of our goat milk soaps that we will be taking:
• Citrus Clove: Our signature fall scent—warm, spicy, and perfectly seasonal. 🍂
• Oatmeal Honey Bun: An all-natural, unscented exfoliating bar also made with honey and colloidal oatmeal—a warm reminder of grandma's kitchen in the fall. 🍯

Every single batch of our goat milk soap and lotion is made with love using milk from our Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats right here on the farm, paired with sunflower seed oil from a family farm in Nebraska.

Well I changed my breeding plans once again. 🤪 Blake and I will be trying more cervical AIs this year and will be having LAP AIs done on 5 does. Cervical AIs will be tried on does that come back into heat after LAP AIs. So plans are not set in stone. I will update as we confirm pregnancies. I have mulled over this so much and feel currently that these breedings are the best choices towards improvement. Please let me know if you would like to be placed on our free reservation list.

Making goat milk lotion for Harvest Moon Pumpkin Patch. 🧴🎃

What a time we had at the Nebraska State Fair! It was a hot one for our final show of the season, but our herd made us incredibly proud and we are feeling so blessed.

A huge thank you to Jonathan Laner and the show committee for running such a fantastic event, and to the judges for sharing their time and expertise. The girls got some wonderful feedback in showmanship to carry forward into next year. We also owe a massive thank you to my mom for keeping us so organized and recording all of our placings, to Donna for watching and helping with Henry and keeping up with chores, and to Cleary Berlin for the mini photoshoot with the twins and Afina. Finally, thank you to all of our friends for your constant support and wise words of advice!

This season has really shown us the fruits of our labor, while giving us clear direction on where to take our breeding program next. Combined with our linear appraisal results, the feedback from this year will help us continue working to improve the Nigerian Dwarf breed.

Here are a few of our top highlights from the week:

Premier Breeder Honors: We won Premier Nigerian Breeder. Adalene earned Premier Youth Breeder (winning a belt buckle!) as well as Premier Nigerian Junior Exhibitor

Showmanship Success: In a competitive class, Adalene placed 2nd and Ainsley placed 4th.

Youth Show: Adalene took Grand Champion with CH Farm Wildwood Afina and Reserve Champion with CH Farm Wildwood Litsea under Judge Kim Fullen.

Open Show Wins:
• Under Judge Scott Bice, CH Farm Wildwood Litsea won Grand Champion and Best of Breed; CH Farm Wildwood Afina took Reserve Champion.
• Under Judge Kim Fullen, CH Farm Wildwood Afina won Grand Champion, Best of Breed, and Best Udder!

Group Class: Took 1st Place Breeders Trio, 1st Place Dairy Herd, 1st Place Get-of-Sire (Fairland Farm Party Boy), 2nd Place Produce of Dam, 2nd Place Senior Get-of-Sire (Old Mountain Farm Samurai *B), and 2nd Place Nebraska Dairy Herd!

Class Placings: Our other junior and senior does racked up several 1st and 2nd place finishes, along with wonderful compliments from both the judges and fellow breeders.

Thank you to everyone who supported us this season. We give God all the glory for these blessings. Now time to give the herd a well-deserved rest! 🐐✨
