🐐 The Countdown is ON: Road to the ADGA National Show!

In just 9 days, we are officially hitting the road! As soon as the twins wrap up their Wayne State College volleyball camp, we are packing up and heading out.

The to-do list is still long, but we are so excited. We wanted to officially introduce you to the incredible lineup of does who will be representing Farm Wildwood at Nationals in Massachusetts this year!

❤️‍🔥Senior Does

CH Farm Wildwood Litsea: Our oldest doe competing! Last year in Grand Island, she took 1st place 4-Year-Old & Best Udder. Just picked up two more Best of Breed Titles in Iowa.

CH Farm Wildwood Avalon: Our gorgeous 4-year-old who placed 12th as a 3-Year-Old at Nationals last year.

Farm Wildwood Verbena: Another 4-year-old who has picked up two Grand Champion ribbons and a Reserve this year!: (Litsea, Avalon, and Verbena will be teaming up for the Senior Get-of-Sire class representing Old Mountain Farm Samurai *B)

CH Farm Wildwood Afina: Our lovely 3-year-old who placed 18th as a 2-Year-Old at Nationals last year. She was ANNDA’S 2025 Senior Runner Up All American 2 Year Old. Afina has also won three best of breed ribbons this show season.

Farm Wildwood Seraphine: A yearling who has freshened with an absolutely beautiful udder. Pick up a junior leg last year.

Farm Wildwood Leiluna : Placed 11th as an Intermediate Kid last year at Nationals and won two grand champion wins in Kansas

Farm Wildwood Farren: Placed 7th as a Junior Kid last year at Nationals and just won Best Junior Doe in Show and Grand Champion in Kansas!

Farm Wildwood Lady Esmeree: A senior kid who just grabbed a Reserve Champion title.

Farm Wildwood Forget-Me-Not: A senior kid who picked up a Grand Champion ribbon in Iowa

Farm Wildwood Isla Rose: Another standout senior kid who secured a Reserve Champion title .

Farm Wildwood Moonflower: A senior kid and another Litsea daughter competing

Farm Wildwood Sky Diamond & Farm Wildwood Beauty for Ashes: Our two stunning Intermediate Kids wrapping up the lineup!

It takes a village to get this many girls clipped, prepped, and ready, but we are so proud of this home-raised crew.

I’ll do my best to post updates of our travels and the show for our friends and family. We would love prayers for safety and for the health of our people and animals these next weeks.

😵‍💫WhY? Nationals? 😕

Every year when Nationals rolls around, we hear the same questions:

“Why do you drive that far?”
“Isn’t it crazy expensive?”
“There are plenty of local shows.”
“That looks exhausting.”

The truth is, all of those things are true.

The drive is long (very long this year) The week is exhausting. It cost a lot of money. And yes, there are local shows much closer to home.

But that’s not really the point.

We go because of the people. Over the years we’ve build friendships with families from all over the country that we only get to see once or twice a year. We go because there’s nothing quite like competing alongside some of the best Nigerian Dwarf herds in the nation. We go because of the excitement, the anticipation, and the challenge of seeing where our breeding program stacks up on the biggest stage.

What most people don’t see is the teamwork. Nationals is one of the most competitive shows you’ll ever attend, but it’s also one of the places where people help each other the most. Need help getting a goat ready? Someone is there. Need an extra hand? Someone steps up. We’re all competitors, but we’re also a community.

Most of all, we go because it’s fun.

We spend a week with family. We make memories with our kids. We laugh, celebrate the wins, learn from the losses, and spend time with people who share the same passion we do.

At the end of the year, most people don’t remember every local show result. They remember Nationals.

It’s the Super Bowl of goat shows.

One goat. One day. TWO judges.

Anything can happen.

You can spend all year preparing for that one moment, and that’s what makes it special. Win or lose, you have to show up to experience it.

We’ve been fortunate enough to make that trip several times, and every year we’re reminded why we keep going back. The banners and ribbons are great, but the friendships, memories, and experiences are what stay with you long after the show is over.

If you’ve ever thought about going, do it when you can. You’ll be tired, you’ll spend more money than you planned, and you’ll probably wonder what you got yourself into at least once during the week.

But I can almost guarantee you’ll leave already thinking about next year.

And honestly, when it’s all said and done, nobody really remembers how much the diesel cost, how many hours were spent on the road, or how tired they were by the end of the week. They remember the people, the laughs, the goats, the wins, the lessons, and the memories made with family and friends.

That’s why we keep going back.

🐐🥇We attended the Iowa Spring Classic Dairy Goat Show in Colfax, IA, over the weekend. This is always a very competitive show even though numbers were down compared to last year. We were very blessed that the herd represented us well. A two day show with milkers showing both days is always a challenge the second day after them being in such full milk the day before and then expected to fill for the second show day. It didn’t help it was hot, humid, and storming as well. The older gals held their own the second day with Litsea being mentioned in the Best Doe In Show Lineup for both rings against National competition. Afina was mentioned the first day in both rings for Best in Doe in Show and just looked simply amazing.

There was also a two ring buck show on Sunday. Unfortunately, Pope didn’t get to show since he was a bit puffed up to make it in the rings. Old man Party Boy took over and won two grand champion ribbons and Best Buck in Show in Ring 4! I guess we need to find another buck show and finish him! He was very proud of himself and probably would have won best beard and personality lol! CH Farm Wildwood Maverick won Best Buck in Show in Ring 3 and is looking as handsome as ever. This is his second BIS ribbon and he is owned by our friends JMW Acres.

We picked up Reserve ribbons with 4 year old Verbena, and senior kids Esmeree and Isla Rose. Forget-Me-Not was a Grand in Ring 4 after I struggled showing her in the three rings prior. I realized that she was hangry and mama is the one who feeds her. She was a drama queen flailing herself around the ring but was fine for dad in Ring 4 and picked up a championship leg. Go figure.

Adalene and Ainsley rocked it in a very competitive Intermediate showmanship class of 16. Judge Ben Rupchis did a wonderful job preparing them for Nationals and had them even list strengths and weaknesses on the scorecard on a goat they were showing that wasn’t even theirs. Adalene was
able to win and was Grand Champion Showman and Ainsley was third overall. They have improved so much over the years and have grown into confident young ladies.

Another amazing part of this weekend was seeing my Aunt Jeanie who drove up from Saint Louis and our dear friends Kim and Bob Roman from Illinois. They were wonderful supporters and I think my aunt enjoyed her first ever goat show.
