Hey, we know him!
There is no where else Larry would rather be this week than at the Fillmore County Fair. All week, he can be found near the show ring, from watching Cooper & Cody show their pigs during the swine show on Wednesday, helping with the sheep show on Thursday and the beef show and 4-H auction on Friday. If you happen to be down here, swing by the big barn and say hi!
Larry was very surprised and honored to receive this award on Tuesday night, and grateful to the person who nominated him!
The Fillmore County Ag Society is recognizing individuals for being an outstanding citizen in Fillmore County. Recipients include those individuals who volunteer in their communities or at the Fillmore County Fair. Volunteering can be represented by working with youth, agriculture, education, or community based activities. This is the second year that we have been recognizing outstanding citizens in total we have had 24 applications. The recipients were chosen by a panel of business and community members.
Friday at the Fillmore County fair is Larry Miller day. For many years, Larry has been a 4-H adult volunteer in our county. Larry volunteers with the beef and sheep projects and also the 4-H auction. Larry has also hosted many youth on their family farm as a judging venue for the FFA program. Larry has served on the Extention Committee and volunteers his time at the Canton Catholic Assumption Church. Thank you Larry for being an outstanding citizen. We appreciate you!
