It was a great turnout, and great weather, for the 50th anniversary of this weekend's Machias Wild Blueberry Festival, which draws around 15,000 visitors to downtown and is Washington County's largest annual festival. 🫐

We were proud to exhibit at the event again this year, chatting with dozens of festivalgoers about our Maine farming operations and our contributions to the state's working waterfront and seafood heritage. We gave away samples of almost 5 pounds of our True North Seafood candied Atlantic salmon and almost 2 pounds of our cold-smoked Atlantic salmon. We also sponsored once again the Machias Blueberry 5-Mile Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk in support of the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and chatted with us, and to everyone who made the event such a fantastic day! πŸ‘

🫐 A HUGE THANK YOU! 🫐

What an incredible day at the 2026 Wild Blueberry 1-Mile and 5-Mile Races! We are overflowing with gratitude for everyone who helped make this year’s event such a wonderful success.

Thank you to every runner, walker, volunteer, sponsor, donor, organizer, community partner, cheering spectator, and behind-the-scenes helper. Whether you crossed the finish line, handed out water, directed participants, helped with registration, provided supplies, sponsored the event, or encouraged racers along the course, you played an important part in making the day so special.

Events like this are only possible because of the generosity, energy, and heart of our amazing community. Your support brings people together and helps the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center continue serving individuals and families affected by cancer.

From all of us, thank you for showing up, pitching in, and making every mile meaningful. We are deeply grateful and we can’t wait to see you again next year! πŸ’™πŸ«πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

On Aug. 6, teachers from throughout , as well as and , joined us as part of the Maine Agriculture in the Classroom program to tour our Washington County operations. 🌊

Established in 2007, the program's mission is to promote an understanding of agriculture and natural resources among students. The teachers, ranging from elementary school to middle school and high school, toured our Gardner Lake hatchery in East Machias, cruised around Passamaquoddy Bay to visit some of our farm sites, compliments of Eastport Windjammers, and enjoyed lunch from Eastport's Picnic Cafe & Bakery at the Eastport Port Authority, while listening to presentations from Maine Aquaculture Association's Sebastian Belle, Maine Sea Grant's Chris Bartlett, and our Director of Public Affairs, Steven Hedlund.

A big thank you to all who made this day possible, especially Willie Sawyer Grenier of Maine Agriculture in the Classroom. We look forward to hosting the teachers again when the program returns to Washington County. πŸ§‘β€πŸ«πŸ‘
