The New World Screwworm has not been detected in Georgia, but we remain vigilant.
If you suspect Screwworm, take these three steps:
1. Inspect- Check your pets and livestock for draining or enlarging wounds and signs of discomfort.
2. Report- Immediately report any suspicious wounds, maggots, or infestations to your veterinarian and report it to the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Animal Health Division at 404.656.3667 and [email protected]
3. Protect- If you hear of or see anything you think could be NWS, please report.
