This is such a relevant topic for me to speak about, because Iโve been feeling less than due to my health issues and not particularly wanting to ride Blue, and even questioning whether Iโll ride Amethyst when sheโs older.
The equestrian industry has conditioned my mind to think that, if I have a horse that I donโt ride itโs โ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐โ. If I have a horse that I only ride sometimes Iโm a โ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ-๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ซโ. If I donโt see my horses everyday Iโm a โ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆโ.
If I donโt compete Iโm not a โ๐ ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ซโ, if I only trial ride I mustnโt be a โ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ซโ. If I donโt have the latest tack, equipment or clothing I must be โ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ฌโ.
If I decide to keep my horses as pets I must be โ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐๐ฒโ.
If I decide to treat a pony medically, who couldnโt take me round grassroots Iโm โ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ .โ
This conditioning is inaccurate, toxic and harmfulโฆ
Iโm here to say that, if you donโt ride. If you have disabilities and limitations you are a ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง. If you donโt have the latest saddle pads or tack, youโre still a ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง.
If you donโt compete that doesnโt mean youโre not a good rider, youโre still a ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง.
No horse is wasted, if itโs cared for and loved.
