Our goal is to be the premier wine ,craft beer and sprit store in Macon by providing our customers with the finest products and unsurpassed service in an upscale boutique shop setting, at prices that they can appreciate. Carriage hills bottle shoppe started with 800 sq ft and has now grown to approximately 3500 sq ft. Since we bought the store in 2010, we have made number of changes to improve the store to

Celebrating High West’s 20th anniversary, Act 14 delivers exceptional richness and complexity.

A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 14 is the latest annual limited release of High West’s beloved Rendezvous Rye, finished in a carefully selected combination of Ruby Port, Tawny Port, and new for this year Amontillado, Oloroso, and PX Sherry barrels.

SENSORY NOTES

Nose
Wild strawberries, blackberry lemon preserves, singed apple slices, grapefruit blossom, honeycomb, sandalwood, autumn leaves, and warm figs in a leather satchel.

Palate
Blood orange flesh, cherry fruit leather, cinnamon-dusted plum crumble, quince jam, apricot scone with cold brew coffee, dried mint, toasted hazelnuts, and hickory wood.

Finish
Rich and vibrant, like a jam thumbprint cookie dipped in spiced chai tea.

Beautifully balanced with a silky texture, fresh acidity, and a long, lingering finish. Take your time with this one slow sips reveal layers of deliciousness and character.

🍇 WINEMAKING
The grapes are hand-harvested at 23° Balling in the cool morning hours. They are cooled to preserve their fresh flavors and aromas, then gently pressed. The free-run juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks before being moved to 300-liter French oak barrels for fermentation.

The w**e spends 10 months maturing in French oak, followed by four months of bottle maturation before release.

Pale straw with flecks of gold

Inviting aromas of citrus, nectarine, and vanilla custard, complemented by honeysuckle, toasted almonds, and beeswax.

Kaapse Versnit 2024

A dry, full-bodied red blend made from seven cultivars grown on the slopes of the Simonsberg. Each variety is harvested and vinified separately before being blended and aged for 16 months in French oak.

COLOUR
Dark red with purple hues

BOUQUET
Forest fruits, wild bramble and black plum, with earthy undertones from the Pinotage.

TASTE
Layers of black plum, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and savory spice, supported by firm yet refined tannins and a long, warming finish.

Malbec 2024

Grown on the slopes of Simonsberg Mountain, between Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl. The grapes are harvested in the cool morning hours, fermented on the skins and matured for 16 months in second- and third-fill French oak barrels.

Deep, opaque purple

BOUQUET
Ripe blackberry, wild herbs and black plum, with subtle violet aromas over a rich, dark-fruit core.

TASTE
Vibrant black fruit with beautiful succulence and silky tannins. Dark fruit and spice linger on the finish, offering youthful appeal along with the structure to age gracefully for up to 10 years.

About the product: Exploring the art of alternative cooperage, Cherry Wood Cask is aged in American oak and finished in sustainably harvested wild-cherry wood casks from the Jura region of eastern France. This cask finished straight bourbon wh***ey delivers a distinctive balance of depth and brightness. Memphis heat and humidity draw rich character from the wood, layering vibrant cherry, warm spice, gentle sweetness, and subtle toasted notes into every sip, culminating in an unmistakably unique finish that lingers long after the last pour.
 
Tasting Notes: The nose primes you for a wh***ey that feels like a big, dry cherry powerhouse. Let this one open in the glass for a few minutes and notice the notes expand: a freshly cracked pack of Swedish Fish, violet jam, cedar chest, and warm beignets. Fragrant, sweet, fruity, yet wh***ey-driven.
The palate is rich and spiced, striking a balance between big dried cherry and apricot notes before moving into balanced layers of toasted oak and toned-down baking spices.
It’s lightly candied in its fruit sweetness before moving into ginger and white pepper, ultimately giving a bit of rye bite before returning to notes of flat Cheerw**e, cracked black pepper, and sweet oak in a long, dry finish.
