Web site project completed!
We have been working and working and working trying to give you a better web site experience at the FoodHome.com web site. Our latest project began one year ago with a goal to upgrade from Magento version 1.9 to version 2.3. The total investment of this project cost around $9,000.
Here is a list of relevant enhancements.
Enhanced security - The latest versions of Magento are maintained daily by programmers around the world.
Production Dedicated Web Server - Development of FoodHome.com was performed on a standard desktop. The web site is now running on our new web server with super fast mirrored solid state drives for fast response time.
Upgraded our Internet speed - We've invested in a faster Internet service provider. This increased our upload speed to you from 4 mbs to 14 mbs.
E-mail confirmations - Order placement and contact us form are now working
Product validation - Many routines are moving product data and prices everyday to the FoodHome.com web site. This ensures discontinued items are removed faster and seasonal items are made available. Products with bad data are suppressed.
Search Functions - Our search functions are now working better. You can search for items with 2 words like "Miracle Whip" and get the expected results. We also fixed the search functions for brands with a single quote and other special characters.
Shipping quotes - USPS, UPS, and FedEx couriers are all quoting. We offer service to International addresses now.
Cool off period - Development on this version has stopped 5 weeks ago. So you will not see any major changes, downtime, or program testing code interfering with your shopping session.
Deli meat in 1/2-lb. - We are now making 1/2 pound are default size for sliced deli meats. We used to use 1lb. minimums
Better uniforms
A few items we are working on ...
Method of allowing same day delivery
Cleaner faster left-hand navigation
EBT Card acceptance, sales tax collection, and bottle deposit.
Delivery Area re-arrangement.
If problems from the past forced you to move along to another grocery delivery service, we feel this is a time you may re-consider our services.
There are some things we do better. Many of our customers compliment our service with the competition.
We learned a few handling lessons in the past year. Including making sure we get yellow bananas (no hard green bananas). We can't refrigerate a pear or lettuce.
Your patronage is the only way FoodHome.com continues to fund projects that bring a better experience to you.

P.S.
The GoGetDelivery.com web site is becoming outdated. We hope to make upgrades to this web site for long standing customers, but we are not sure when that will happen.
