A New Chapter - update
In September we sold the majority of our Akaushi of Fostton Place cattle - Akaushi and Akaushi crosses - and our Florida property to Green Heart Farms Co., led by Gabrielle Guerrera. This younger generation brings their energy, enthusiasm, marketing experience and innovative minds to the project.
Gabrielle and her partners will be carrying on with the bloodlines you have seen us talk about here, and/or have purchased from us. You can look to them for the best in Polled Akaushi genetics. Our herdsperson in Florida has agreed to stay on with the new owners so they will be raised and cared-for in the same gentle hand style that produces the easy temperament you have appreciated from our herd.
We are confident the Akaushi community will be as welcoming, supportive and helpful to the new owners as they have been to us. Please welcome them to the Akaushi fraternity.
The new owners can be reached by email: [email protected],
by text or phone at 802-380-8151
or check out their webpage: greeheartfarmsco.com
As for David and Maggie Roffey – well, having had cattle all our lives, we couldn’t quite give it all up. And we are not going back to eating any other beef! Have kept a very small handful and moved to a few acres and a log home next to the George Washington National Forest about an hour north of Roanoke, Virginia. The new Akaushi of Fostton Place. Text or Message when you want to come visit.

David Hampton planted douglas fir and larch trees in a forest in Oregon to resemble a face. Every autumn the larch pines turn orange and the smiley face stands out.
The face is about 300 feet in diameter
