If you’re a longtime Working Draft taproom guest, you may have noticed a familiar face behind the bar. Welcome back, Tony!
Tony’s favorite styles of b**r are hazy IPAs and la**rs (specifically pilsners), which lines right up with what we do well at WDBC. His favorite b**r on tap right now is our festbier, Hellerfest, which he’d love to have year round.
If you’re into spicy foods and peppers, he is definitely your guy. Tony grows multiple varieties of hot peppers, which he uses to make hot sauces and dry seasoning mixes, as well as infusions (ask him about his Mallört experiment!), pickling, and other dishes. One of his favorite varieties this year is the Hellboy pepper, which have “big pods, and are just as hot as a scorpion or reaper.” Here he’s holding a tray of our “Burninator” pickles, which are made with habañeros, serranos, and chiles de árbol. They’re spicy, but they barely make him blink 🔥
When not pouring tasty brews for us or cooking with peppers, he’s a mainstay on the disc golf courses, loves grilling out with friends, and roots on his favorite sports teams. We asked him if the Packers can dig their way out of their hole and make the playoffs, and he said, “Yeah! I always believe in the Packers. They have some stuff to work on, but once they get Parsons and Jacobs back, they’ve got a shot.”
That’s the kind of glass-half-full approach that makes Tony great, and we’re so glad to have him back. Cheers!
