T-minus two weeks until Oktoberfest 2026, and this year we're pulling out all of the stops to make it a weekend to remember.

Every day we're offering something different, whether it's different food options or different musical acts / activations. Today being Sunday, we'd love to tell you about what's happening on the Sunday of Oktoberfest (September 13th).

First off, we'll still be pouring tap after tap of the best German-style beer you'll find outside of Deutschland. We'll also still be playing Hammerschlagen in the parking lot-turned Biergarten. We'll also have giant Pretzels from Batch Bakehouse and potato pancakes, sauerkraut, and German potato salad from Stalzy's Deli.

But what's different about Sunday you ask? We'll be:

-- Hosting a One Liter Stein Holding Competition at 1pm.
-- Serving a traditional pork shoulder dish that's braised in Stackenblochen by Stalzy's.
-- Spinning vinyl German drinking songs.
-- Showing the Packers opener vs. the Vikings at 3:25, in both the taproom and in a portion of the Biergarten.

Can you think of a better way to cap off an amazing weekend of family, friends, fun, and of course, anything and everything German?!?

Here's what's happening in the taproom this week:

Monday - 🤥🫛💤 - Lego Night, presented by Working Draft and Bricks and Minifigs, starting at 6:30
Tuesday - 🅱️9️⃣🍺 - Bingo Night starting at 6:30, Side Pull Tuesday
Wednesday - ⁉️🤔💡 - Trivia Night starting at 6:30
Friday - 🥟🎉🍻 - Food Truck Friday w/ Paul's Pel'Meni 5-8pm, Underversary
Sunday - 🌭🍹🍺 - Brats & Bloodys

Have a great week everyone 🍻

Allow us to introduce to you the next installment in our Single Hop series, Hello, My Name is: Cascade, a West Coast-style IPA, which weighs in at 6.5% ABV.

Hello Cascade is smooth and balanced with notes of pine and grapefruit with a floral finish. A simple grain bill of Briess Pilsner and 2-Row malts keeps the malt backbone restrained.

The stars of the show are the Cascade hops. We used Wisconsin-grown Cascade hops, so not only do you get delicious grapefruit and floral notes, you get a little Wisconsin terroir.

Cascade actually has quite a history. It was developed in the 1960’s as part of the USDA hop breeding program, and officially released as an aroma variety in 1971. It was first used commercially in 1975 by the Anchor Brewing Company in California, and later popularized by Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

The Cascade hop has cemented itself as a signature hop of American Pale Ale. Known for its zesty grapefruit flavor and aroma, rounded out by soft floral and spice, it can be used as both a bittering and aroma hop.

The Single Hop IPA Series has introduced you to seven hops now. Look forward to our next installment, Hello, My Name is: Nelson Sauvin Single Hop IPA, coming out in November 🍻

You may have noticed that we've had a new person running the taproom since the turn of the year. He's not the loudest person in the room, but his presence can always be felt. If you haven't met him yet, please allow me to introduce our new GM, Dick!

He does so many things around WDBC. Among other things, Dick leads the taproom (with a lot of help from our tremendous staff), coordinates our events (with a lot more help from staff), and is the wizard behind our house-made pickles. If you like spice, you have to try the burninator pickles 🥵

Dick's a lot more than just his many roles at WDBC. He's a father of two, an avid reader, a talented writer, and one of the biggest Brewer fans you'll stumble upon.

Here's a little snippet of the feature we ran on him in our latest newsletter (which you can receive every two weeks by signing up for it on our website)

What's a book that you'd recommend everyone read? - I’m going to give two, because my first one is To Kill a Mockingbird, which I’m sure most people read in high school. I love that book for its depiction of Atticus Finch as the gold standard of a father. My second is Go Set a Watchman, which is Harper Lee’s other book, written before Mockingbird and released late in her life. That book depicts a much older, less tolerant Atticus Finch, and I find it a great compliment to the first in that it teaches the dangers of putting heroes on a pedestal.

We're lucky to have you on board Dick!

Join us Saturday to celebrate Cuban Sandwich Day!

Sandwich Hub will be slangin’ Cubanos from 3pm - 9pm (or whenever they sell out–come early!), and we’ll have some classic Cuban cocktails–a house made Mojito and a Cuba Libre, made with Mexican Coke.

Special Cuban desserts of tres leches and a rice pudding will also be available, made specially for the event by our friends at Baked Lab.

Come for the food, and stay for the Cuban Casino Rueda dancing! We’ll have Timba music playing all day, curated by TimbAché Cuban Dance Connection. Unsure about what Casino Rueda dancing is? Don’t worry, there will be dance professionals here to help newbies get started at 7pm.
