Greetings BYBB’ers!
In the last 2 weeks, most of the information needed to make the decisions the The Madison Courier Backyard Blast needs, has pretty well come together. So, it’s time to get you all in the loop!
-The observations, suggestions and ideas we got from you folks was invaluable. We took everything you said into deep consideration, rumination and orchestration. Here is basically the layout for this year. If you have kept up with the “Party” as a whole, you know we’ll be changing things, and the BYBB will have much more addition than subtraction.
--There will be no entrance fees to the party grounds as a whole.
--Organization of the stage is different, moving straight south to the south side of Vaughn Dr., facing the north. This means the BYBB sites will be shifted west 1-1.5 blocks to the west.
--Your sites will be larger, 12’x20’. You can stay until Saturday night for sure. Maybe Sunday morning.
--The competition will be just as in the past, gates open at 6 am, with the same turn-in times, stage, etc.
--Saturday there will be an optional “People’s Choice” competition. We are planning that to be a 1-4pm Event. In exchange for small samples, people will vote for their favorites with tickets. Tickets will be collected, and used to tally the award(s). The award(s) will be given out on the stage Saturday evening.
--The cost for the site is $50.
--We were forced to learn a bit about making websites. We are still learning but we are live now! However, we are asking everyone for this year, just please copy and paste the applications for the BYBB and send it in with a check. We will have the time and knowledge, eventually, to create the direct pay on the web, but it’ll be a while.
I hope this helps you, it’s really going to be fun, with bouncy houses, water parks, lots of kid stuff, etc.

Six judges rate each entry for a possible 21 points each. Entries are judged on presentation (up to 3 points), taste (up to 9 points) and texture (up to 9 points).
