Elena Walch was an architect by trade who became a w**emaker by accident. While restoring a historic castle she fell in love and married Werner Walch, heir to one of the oldest w**e families in the region. Both W**e Spectator and James Suckling give her Pinot Grigio 91pts. The medium-bodied w**e is vivid and structured with a mineral-salty richness, crisp acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. It pairs well with a variety of foods.

Te Mata Estate has been continuously producing w**e in the same converted block of horse stables since the 1890’s. Their vineyards were the first to be protected under New Zealand law as a heritage site. The Merlot/Cabernet blend has aromas of blackberry, dark plum, cassis and cedar. The palate offers corresponding flavors of dark fruit, cocoa and fine-grained tannins.

Today I'm going to french press some Yemeni Mokka. If you're interested in trying some classic old world coffee, stop by the shop. I've only got enough for a couple of presses so this will be first come first serve. I don't really know how to price this tasting so I'll leave it up to you. Try the coffees and pay what you think it's worth.

Let's talk about coffee for a minute. A lot of coffee shops are known for their mactcha, or chai tea lattes, or baked goods, or sandwiches, or exciting events. I'm not really interested in any of that. Sure I want all of the peripheral stuff to be top notch, but really, I'm just all about the coffee. I want to have the best coffee. Most shops in our area are selling the same coffee but not us. We roast our own. Sourcing spectacular beans, roasting them to perfection, and brewing up spectacular coffee. Come give us a try and taste the difference for yourself.
