At Always A Farms, each member of our family gets to help with the day-to-day activities! Adam grew up on his family dairy farm which lead him to pursue a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. Adam also works off the farm where he promotes agriculture globally. Abby was involved with 4-H as a child and that is where her love for animals began. degree in Dairy Science and manages many of the daily happenings at th
e farm. Abram, our son, loves life on the farm and his favorite activity is collecting the chicken eggs. Adelyn, our daughter, is an animal lover. Her favorite activity is helping Mom and Dad feed the animals. Our story began in Blacksburg, VA. This is where Adam and Abby met in graduate school at Virginia Tech. After graduate school Adam and Abby both took jobs in the dairy industry and moved to Ohio. Ohio is where the first animals of our new farm were purchased; a goat named Georgia and a cow named Kora. Shortly after we added a dairy calf from Adam's home farm in Wisconsin, Aces. At this time Always A began and we started only using names that start with A :). For many reasons (mainly the cold weather in Ohio and Adam taking a new job that saw him traveling to over 50 countries), the whole Geiger family moved to Madison, GA and bought a property that would allow our farm to continue to grow. Since moving to Georgia, our dream of raising our kids around animals and agriculture has been realized. Within a year of moving into our new home, we built fencing around a large pasture. We purchased our first two goats, Arty and Arla, almost immediately, and introduced Aces's daughter, Angel to the farm. Next, we added additional steers and a momma Jersey cow (Alaska) and her baby (Arizona) and grew our goat herd from 2 to 8 over the next year. Of course, our animals needed someone to watch over them at night, so we brought in Alfie, the donkey, and also brought in some chickens to provide us with eggs (every farm needs some, right?). Additional fruit and vegetable production has brought us to where we are today. It has been our lifelong goal to spread the joy of animal ownership and husbandry. Our intention with the goats has always been to be able to provide the offspring to other animal enthusiasts or those that are looking to get started in agriculture themselves. We also take pride in our work and our animals, and look forward to providing high quality, milk-based products from our livestock. Reminding and teaching the local community what agriculture means to the world is the best way for us to give back to the industry that has shaped our lives and the way we raise our children!
