Wilsdorf Berry Patch

Wilsdorf Berry Patch The Wilsdorf Berry Patch is a family owned and operated fruit and vegetable producer. All items are produced on our farm with no or minimal chemical use.

We began as a U-pick strawberry patch in 2006 and have added red raspberries, blackberries, and rhubarb. Picked fruit is available by order only. We also offer jellies and jams made from our fruit and our published fruit cookbook.

The 2014 strawberry season is over......and this also marks the final closing of the Wilsdorf Berry Patch.

Thank you to all who have supported us over the past 9 years. It has certainly been an interesting experience and we have made a lot of friends along the way. However, I'm definitely looking forward to not spending all summer, fall, and spring working the patch.

Blackberries: We may have a few this year. But check out this new operation near Huntsville. www.facebook.com/bagbysberrybucket

We will finish picking this week and still have some nice berries. All remaining strawberries are now $1.00 per pound (u-pick only). Reservations need to be made for picking by calling 660-651-0378.

06/13/2014

We no longer have regular hours to be open, but will have some berries available the week of June 15. If you are interested in picking, call 660-651-0378 and we can set up a time convenient for both of us. All remaining berries will be $1.25 or less per pound starting Monday.

06/08/2014

We only have a few rows of late berries that are producing much now. If you want to pick, please call ahead to reserve space. Otherwise, you will leave here with very few berries!

We are quickly winding down the strawberry season and expect to close about the middle of next week. Today is the only day we will be open in the afternoon, but will make appointments for afternoon picking if that is the only time you have available. Orders for picked berries are no longer being taken.

CLOSED MONDAY AFTERNOON June 2. We sold out again this morning. I know some of you can't come in the mornings, so I am planning to reserve some rows for picking on Wednesday afternoon, June 4. If you want to reserve space for picking then please call or reply here.

The strawberry season will be pretty short this year. I expect to have berries all of this next week, but beyond that is iffy at this point. I had hoped to be open until June 14, but it is very likely we will not make it that far. A lack of rain is not helping. If you would like some of this years berries, please plan to come while the berries are still nice.

CLOSED FRIDAY EVENING. We are looking at a short crop this year and have been selling out daily. I already have everything booked for tomorrow (Friday) so will NOT plan to be open on Friday evening (5/30/14).

We are still taking a few orders but can not guarantee that we can provide all that you would like to have.

DO NOT rely on Google Maps to get you here. See the May 22 post for directions.

Wilsdorf Berry Patch First Strawberry - I ate the first strawberry today. Not quite ripe, but I beat the birds to it! If warm days hold, we should be open by the end of next week. Unfortunately, the Earliglo, which is the first variety to ripen, took the hardest hit in last years drought and we won't have many of them.

We are now taking orders for strawberries. Call 660-651-0378.

Rhubarb is now available.

STRAWBERRIES 2014 - It looks like strawberries will be ready at the end of May. They are just now starting to bloom. We lost a lot of plants last summer due to the drought, so picking conditions may not be as much fun in some places. Still, we are hoping for a good crop and looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

Prices and hours will be announced later this month.

We will start taking orders for picked berries May 19. Call 660-651-0378.
