Though it’s incredibly difficult to make a living running a small farm, thanks to Scott Williams, farmer and owner of Garden To Be, more farmers are able to exclusively do what they love and what they know. Garden To Be has come a long way since it started as a five-acre vegetable farm in 2000, now working as a wholesale distribution for all the farmers who joined. Their new facility located in Fitchburg allows them to better manage the amount of food coming in. β€œWe’re shipping more than a million pounds of combined produce annually,” says Scott. β€œWe’ll definitely be close to two million pounds this year. β€œ Read more in our current issue.

Do you grow your own tomatoes? What about your own basil? Carrots? Corn? The rewarding experience of morphing a seed into food also grows an appreciation for the people who do it professionally: farmers. Farms in Wisconsin range in size from thousands of acres to less than five, and those small farm...

Garden To Be is hiring! Last year, we moved the operation off the farm to a warehouse in Fitchburg just off McKee Rd, and it has been great! More and bigger coolers, large climate controlled space, new handling equipment, loading docks! And we've been adding more farms & more customers.
I am looking for another driver, 3-5 days/week, who is comfortable & capable of driving straight trucks up to 26' boxes with air brakes. Valid driver's license and clean record is necessary, but no CDL required.
I'm also looking for a receiver/order packer in the warehouse 2-4 days/week. Ability to drive any of the straight trucks a plus πŸ‘
Both positions require high degree of detail attention, reliability, and ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lb.
Please send resumes and inquiries to Scott at [email protected]. Do not message me through these social apps. I would like to fill these positions asap! Please help me spread the word even if you aren't interested in the job yourself.
Thanks!!
