This will be our first time Repping this contest, and we are very excited about it. It’s not just on the site of a Microbrewery, but also very close to Nashville. I’ve heard some great things about this one from the teams! Get those apps in so we can make sure we have the judges we need.

What a way to kick off the year. We rolled into one of our favorite, well run contests this past weekend, Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship. Jason, Brandie, Eric, Dennis, and the team did not disappoint! This year there were 125 teams including many of our BBQ friends & family.

We weren’t expecting any earth shattering calls, but then… 2nd Place PERFECT PERFECT Pork!! While that took us out of the Wild Child, we took it with a whole lot of gratitude. Moments like that reminds us why we do what we do.

A big congratulations to the 2 teams who absolutely crushed it this weekend…Razorracks BBQ with the GC and Kith n’ Kin Competition BBQ for their RGC! Truly amazing.

COTR 2025 Brisket Class for Backyard Teams!!!

We want to offer a brisket class for backyard teams that have a paid entry to this year’s COTR BBQ contest. Cost will be $100. Date will be Nov 8th or Nov 22nd. Venue TBD (somewhere in northern Alabama). Let me know in the comments if you are interested and what date works best for you.

Entry Fee for COTR 2025 is $250 (Early Bird). Entry fee goes up to $275 on November 1st, so don’t delay entering.

Lex and I had the opportunity to cook close to home this weekend in Cleveland AL at The Great Alabama BBQ Cook-Off which consisted of three one-meat contests (Chicken, Ribs, Pork) put on by Alabama Public Television (APT). We went up against some of the best 2-Meat Professional (aka Alabama/Tennessee/Mississippi Backyard..😜) teams around.

Finished:
9th in chicken 🐓
5th in Ribs (Compart Family Farms)
2nd in Pork (Compart Pork!!!!)
And overall Grand Champions

Congrats to PuckDaddy’s Killer Q on Reserve, the teams that won each of the 3 meats, and all that got calls.
