It had been 13 days since Hurricane Idalia wrecked her havoc on our area and livestock market. Though our market was affected badly - we are still blessed. When you think you have it bad, there is always someone who has it worse. Yes - the days have been long; full of hard work and sweat in the process of rebuilding the market. However in the midst of this chaotic time, we are thankful and blessed.
First of all God was, is, and will always be in control. Our Almighty Father protected our lives, our families, our children, our customers and our cattle.
Secondly, the support from colleagues has been truly touching. We would like to thank our fellow livestock markets in the state of Florida for reaching out and asking how they can help. Fellow markets and cattle producers have volunteered their heavy equipment, sent supplies, chainsaws, etc and even taken up donations to help us build back as quickly as possible.
The Florida Cattlemen’s Association and The Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida were some of the first to make the trip to North Florida bringing supplies, fencing materials, water, food, and volunteering to help clean up. These men and women (along with the local chapters) volunteered their time, hands and hard work and dispersed through out Madison county assisting local cattle producers repairing perimeter fences, sawing and moving trees, getting water to cattle and helping any way needed. We would like to thank each person that volunteered their time, help, materials, etc - with out taking care of the cattle and the producers - we wouldn’t have cattle to sell.
To our loyal customers - THANK YOU for your support, kind words and business. To the producers and customers that held their cattle until we were able to open and sell them for you - your loyalty is unrivaled and appreciated more than you could ever know. Agriculture, hard work and God our Father are the foundation and backbone of our country and we are blessed to be part of it!
