We’re back in town and preparing for a busy holiday weekend! 🍷🙌🏼
While we were away, we took some time to do one of our favorite things — visit other wineries, try their wines, eat their food, and see what makes each place special.
Two wineries that really stood out to us were Rockside Winery and Vineyards and Rhonemus Cellars, both located in Lancaster.
First up, Rockside! 🤍
Such a beautiful, comfortable winery surrounded by their gorgeous vineyard. We had the pleasure of meeting Ryan, the owner’s son and GM of Rockside, and really enjoyed getting to chat with him. He was incredibly personable and made us feel right at home.
Naturally, we had to do a wine flight. 😉 We selected five wines to try, and being the sweet-wine girl that I am, I walked out with a bottle of Niagara.
We also tried their Dreamsicle + Lavender Lemonade wine slushies, and both were fantastic!
And because apparently we’re incapable of visiting a winery without ordering pizza… we had to try their wood-fired Margherita pizza. 😂🍕 Small, simple and delicious!
Next up was Rhonemus Cellars, and WOW.
This place was absolutely stunning.
From the moment we walked inside, you could tell how much thought went into every single detail. The interior was gorgeous, beautifully designed and incredibly welcoming. Outside, the winery sits perfectly surrounded by a golf course and their beautiful vineyard.
The staff was attentive, friendly and made the entire experience even better.
We had the pleasure of meeting their GM, Nathan, who took the time to talk with us and give us a tour of the winery. He was incredibly kind, welcoming and knowledgeable, and we loved getting to learn more about their operation.
We tried a few wines, enjoyed a glass, had a couple Old Fashioneds and — because apparently it’s also a requirement — a wine slushy. 😂🍷
Their bartender recommended the Bacon & Pickle pizza, so of course we trusted the process.
And let me tell you… it did NOT disappoint. 👏🏼
If you’re ever in the Lancaster area, definitely add both of these wineries to your itinerary. We loved getting to experience them, meet some of the people behind them and, as fellow winery people, appreciate all the little details that go into creating a place people want to come back to.
We also made stops at Hocking Hills Winery, Valley View Hills Winery and Brewery 33 Hocking Hills, LLC during our trip!
It was such a fun few days of exploring, tasting, eating and taking in a little inspiration along the way. 🍷🤍
But now we’re home… and ready to jump right back into the Stonegait chaos. 🤪
