Hello! I’m Julie aka Marmee, and this is my mare, Misty! We’ve been a pair for about the last 7 years. She is my quarter horse and I am her person, though she’d let just about anyone on her back. We used to ride a lot through the mountains. Now we hardly ever get away to ride, but we still enjoy talks and cuddles. Well I’m mostly the one who enjoys the cuddles.
Misty is my confidant. I can tell her anything and she even lets me cry on her shoulders. Funny thing is, horses are actually very in tune with emotions of people. They can tell if you’re nervous or afraid, even happy. They are great support animals and so much like dogs! They desire to trust you as much as you trust them. It is really team work to ride and have a bond.
