Improved completion efficiency coupled with impressive well results along with the acquisition of Paloma Partners II helped Marathon Oil nearly double its Eagle Ford production in the 3rd quarter. Marathon has 4 full time frac crews and 2 spot crews working in the play. The company drilled 78 wells in the 3rd quarter and 180 wells year to date.

ZaZa Energy is moving forward with the development of the its Eaglebine assets. The company began hydraulic fracturing mid-november of its first well the Eaglebine Stingray A-1H in Walker County, Texas and expects to have production test at the end of the month. As a first mover in the play, ZaZa holds what it believes to be some of the Eaglebine's most promising untapped acreage and is focused on making the Eaglebine a core foundation asset. ZaZa owns 90,000 Eaglebine acres mostly in northern Walker County but has some in Grimes and Madison counties. Zaza has a multirig contract with Nabors Drilling and could have up to 15 rigs running in the play by 2015.
