Bertha is now less than two weeks from her due date. Since we actually know her due date of February 19, we can now say she’s in a window that she can calve anytime. I’d love a black heifer from her, so fingers crossed!

Bittersweet day today. Buddy has gone on to a new farm in north Alabama. As much as I would have loved to keep him, the reality is it’s time for a new bull, and it’s hard to justify keeping a bull around strictly for a pet. Buddy probably won’t miss us though…I’ve heard he’s getting 50 new ladies🤣! Thanks for all the memories and fun! We’ll miss ya Bud!

The first calf of 2026 has hit the ground! Another flashy braford bull calf to add to the herd. Cow and calf are both doing awesome.

One last check for lambs for 2025 proves uneventful, so it looks like they’re waiting until 2026. But look at how she’s holding her tail out…maybe tonight!

All this talk about lambs and we’ve actually had a few cows due that have calved here recently with several more on the way within the next couple of weeks!
