After doing well in the ring this past weekend in a very large, competitive class (placing 4th in Show A and 2nd in Show B )we’ve decided to let this promising junior buck have his chance with a single doe pairing.

J Lazy H Outback Jack and J Lazy H Crystal Beth were paired this afternoon. Crossing fingers that this cross does not disappoint.

After driving approximately 11,000 miles between the months of April and October our show season is officially over. This season could not have ended on a higher note!

Allie completed her youth show career which is so bittersweet. While her years in the ring were not long, the confidence she has gained along with the friendships are immeasurable. She was blessed to end her time as a youth strong by receiving Reserve Grand Showman in Show B as well as receiving 3rd place in Youth Premier Exhibitor. Her does placed 2nd (Promised Land Carlotta Moon), 3rd (S-L Miss Gaga), and 4th (J Lazy H Fais Do Do) in the top 10 Show Does of the season. To top it all off, she was awarded the 2026 MGR Youth Scholarship.

Jeff and I’s show season had an exciting end as well. Our junior doe Woody Creek Farm Izadora and junior buck Woody Creek Farm Lucky Flash each received a Junior Merit ribbon since they both have earned their first point. Most exciting of all, our homegrown Buck J Lazy H Color Me Badd has earned the title of 2026 Reserve National Champion Buck.

This season is chock full of memories and we can’t wait to do it again next year. We love our show family and the time that we are able to spend together. A huge thank you to everyone that supports us, and the biggest heart felt thank you to our dear friend Ana Dominguez for holding down the farm while we’re away.

We spent most of the morning yesterday pregnancy checking does and teaching Allie what to look for on an ultrasound. This is a time consuming chore that is equally as satisfying looking for those embryos and confirming new life. We’re excited for what this next kidding season will bring!

Today another junior buck was given a chance in the breeding pen. He didn’t mind at all and the ladies seemed equally enamored with him.
