A huge thank you to for stepping in to help us navigate an ongoing issue with the USDA.

A lien release tied to our assets took more than 12 months to secure, delaying access to critical funds our farm depended on. Experiences like this highlight how delayed processes, underfunded agencies, and complicated policies can create serious hardship for small farms.

Organizations like RAFI are critical advocates for family farms, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support as we work toward a fair resolution so we can continue fighting for the future of local agriculture and provide fresh food and educational opportunities to our community.

We are making real progress! We just had a great call with the Putnam County IDA. We are exploring every avenue to line up the support and resources we need to secure this beloved property for our community.

We are grateful for the cooperation we’re seeing across multiple levels of local government as we work toward preserving these 20 acres of open farmland in the heart of Mahopac.

But we need one more piece to fall into place: we are actively working to bring the current property owner back to the table so we can finalize a purchase agreement and make this preservation a reality. Every day this land sits in limbo is a day we risk losing it to development, and none of us want to see more concrete where there could be crops, community, and open space. We believe this is an opportunity for everyone involved to do something truly meaningful for this community.

Stay with us. Share this post. Talk to your neighbors. The more voices behind this effort, the stronger our case! 💚

Join us in the Mahopac Farm Revival group to stay engaged.

Whether you've been following Fable since the beginning or just found this page, your presence here means everything to us! So here's where things stand:

We are actively working to save the remaining undeveloped 20 acres of the Mahopac farm and bring Fable to Carmel.

Last week we had a meaningful conversation with the Planning Board who has been incredibly supportive, and we're now engaging at the County level to explore the financial frameworks that could make this happen.

Here's how you can help right now:

1. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and share our new group (Mahopac Farm Revival). The more voices behind this, the stronger our case becomes. If you know someone who cares about local food, farming, community, or just making Mahopac a better place - send them here.

2. Stay tuned as we're launching a nonprofit very soon. This means donations to the farmland's revival will be fully tax deductible. We'll share everything you need to know the moment it's live. If you've ever thought about supporting this project, that moment is coming.

Thank you all for your patience. This campaign has not been easy, but it will be well worth it to have a productive farm, food hub, and education site in Mahopac!

Thank you!

Hello All, our farm will not be discussed at today’s Town Board meeting in Carmel. A public hearing on broader zoning matters is scheduled for February 18, but we won’t be commenting on those issues.

We’ve had ongoing conversations with town leadership about bringing our farm, healthy food, and educational opportunities to Mahopac, and we appreciate the thoughtful engagement and support we’ve received. We’ll share additional updates on our initiative as they become available. We simply want to correct some misinformation that may be out there. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday for our first public campaign meeting. Your enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to help truly set the tone for what comes next.

We’ve created a Facebook group (Mahopac Farm Revival) for anyone interested in helping us preserve the remaining 20 acres of the farm. This is our first step in bringing the community together. We will be signing up volunteers, drafting our petition, organizing outreach, spreading the word, and building the momentum we need to protect this land for future generations.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support shown so far. Together, we can ensure these 20 acres remain a vibrant, thriving part of our community.
