Northland Flowers LLC Northland Flowers is a small flower farm located in Mahtowa, Minnesota. Ben and Tori share a passion for dahlias, hydrangeas, peonies, roses, lilies, and more.

Ben, a fourth generation hay farmer, and his wife Tori, an aviation technical writer, relocated from Washington State in February 2020 along with their 5 dogs. Together they are bringing together her years of flower gardening and his agriculture knowledge to share God's beauty with their community. Services will include sales of bouquets in the months of August to October, and eventually tubers to start your own garden at home.

Our year has been very different from the past. We moved mid-May to our dream acreage and spent 8 weeks doing so. Our remaining plants either were outgrown by weeds or suffered drought conditions. Our hearts are shattered by this setback, but today are renewed with hope from 2 small Irish Ruffles seed pods, 89 new babies for 2026. We are hopeful to grow out the remaining tubers, but will not be selling in winter to recoup from this unimaginable loss. Trusting in the process 🌈 of seeds from last season will keep.

Farming is not for the faint-hearted. It is a roller coaster of emotion, jam-packed into every day even now while there aren't any plants in the ground. We are tirelessly planning fields, budgeting for the next "dahlia war", hours spent dividing and labeling every last tuber. Every inch of this work is done by our hands. We laugh, cry, scream, and feel this in our souls. But oh, when we see those blooms, it makes the effort worth every breath of fresh air in that patch of heaven. 2025 marks our 5th year in business, and we are setting our sights on big goals. We pray for a season full of beauty and unexpected blessings ahead.

Every day isn't perfect, and we struggle sometimes. We are experiencing significant crop failure this year, wiping out all dahlias named from letter N to V. It's absolutely devastating. I'm putting my in my prayers and hoping we can still bless others with what flowers do grow this season and be thankful for each and every bloom. This is a beautiful gathering of what's blooming now, lovingly assembled by Farmer Ben. 💐

She may be bug bitten, and a green center, but our first-of-the-season Bloomquist Tory P is HERE!!! What a relief it is to have her stunning self back in the garden. We've only been waiting nine months for this moment. It's the earliest we've had a bloom, but she was also not pinched- don't worry if yours aren't quite there yet.
