Amanda and I grew up on farms less than one mile apart. In 2010, we bought part of Amanda’s family farm in Mahtowa which is where we live today. In the fall of 2015, we bought my grandparents’ farmstead in Barnum and started our own chapter in a long farming history. Owning a farm is something I have wanted my whole life, and now I can’t wait to raise my family in the same lifestyle Amanda and I w

ere raised. Our mission is to raise quality, healthy meat. Each animal we raise plays an important role; they help us cultivate, fertilize, and nourish the land. Our ultimate goal is to heal the land and leave a better place for our kids. Thank you for choosing us to raise the happy, healthy animals that you feed yourself and your family.

We had twins born yesterday. They're always fun to see around on the farm. They do tend to grow slower than a single calf, which is unfortunate in our business.
This twin pair was one bull and one heifer, which means the female is likely a 'freemartin' (explained in the second photo)

Our strawberry farm is near these two farmers. This is a great mini-video of them and their work. They care immensely about soil and quality food. Our area is fortunate to have so many local, quality food sources.

The Happy Critters butcher stock was moved from our homestead to our Barnum Farm location for summer rotational grazing. The grass there is ready, but without rain, 😞 it will struggle to replenish itself.
