We would like to invite all of Kate’s friends, neighbors, sheep enthusiasts, farm buddies, co-workers, flower and plant gurus, cousins, wanna be cousins 😄, and Fans and Followers of Calamity Acres to a grand celebration of Kate’s life and adventures here at Calamity Acres ! There will be food to devour, drinks to imbibe, stories to tell - nothing is off limits - flowers blooming, sheep baaing, and lots and lots of lambs-a-leaping!

Kate absolutely loved her life here at Calamity Acres. Many of you have enjoyed reading about some of her misadventures in farming, some of you participated, and most of us have assisted with her project of the day, whether it was willingly (gullible), subterfuge (‘it’should only take an hour), or bribery ( her homemade blueberry basil jam ).

Kate and Calamity Acres had a way of bringing together a very diverse group of people and discovering that we all had many common talents, curiosities, loves, knowledge, character, and goals. We hope that we can all gather together this final time to share a meal and some time, and know that once again we have the opportunity to share in Kate’s dream fulfilled.

Our hearts join together in sadness with the family and friends of
Kathleen Ann “Kate” Manahan, age 53 of Maiden Rock, WI, who passed away March 26, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Please follow the link to view her obituary notice, and to leave a message on her Tribute Wall.

Finally made it out to the farm for a visit today! Thanks to Lorraine and Ray!!!!!!!! Got to walk into the barn to see the ewes and up to the rams pasture. As soon as they heard my voice, all the inside sheep(ewes and last years lambs) all lined up at the fence! They remembered my voice, and wanted their treats! Everybody is looking happy and healthy. Walked around inside the house, getting a few measurements and getting some ideas on what will need to be altered before I can move back out there. (Shooting for late spring springtime) it was a great day and was hard to com back to the TCU.

Random sheep, goats, ducks: I just think this photographer did such a great job!
