Meet the Farm- Part 1:

Hope and Joy are our newest Menagerie members. They are part of a unique story to bring the Valais Blacknose Sheep breed to the US. Valais Blacknose Sheep originate from the Swiss Alps and because of the Scrape ban, it is not legal to import live sheep.

As part of the “Breed Up Program” frozen semen is shipped and used in foundation ewes to gradually get closer to purebred. Both males and females have horns and the wool is course and best suited for rugs and carpets.

Hope is 50% Valais Blacknose and 50% Scottish Blackface. Joy is 75% Valais. ❤️❤️❤️
