It’s an awesome event, we’ve attended for many years and will be there this year too! Come check it out!

🍎 More than 270 years ago, apple orchards covered acres of the hills around Bethabara.

Apples were part of everyday life here — eaten fresh, dried and preserved, made into cider and vinegar, and even distilled into brandy. They also became one of Bethabara’s major products, contributing to the prosperity of the growing Moravian community.

The Distiller’s House, pictured here in the 19th century, is a reminder of that history. Apples were among the fruits the Moravians distilled into brandy at Bethabara.

And that history is still very much alive.

Each fall, 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 brings the community together at Historic Bethabara Park to celebrate the apple and its place in Bethabara’s history — a story that continues to be part of Winston-Salem today.
