The yellow ribbon tied around the vase represents our continued determination to account for those who are missing.
A slice of lemon on the bread plate to remind us of their bitter fate.
A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by the families of those who have sacrificed all.
The glass is inverted because they cannot share a toast with us today. And the chair is empty because they are not here.
