Recently replanted this Meyer Lemon that has clearly been struggling. It was getting too much shade, we think. After moving it, we treated it with some B1 vitamins to help with the shock, some worm castings, neem cake, and compost and finally topped it off with some mulch. Hopefully we see it perking up in the weeks and months to come!

The rainbow over this newly planted Plumbago caught our attention. This flower offers many benefits, but most important to us is that it attracts butterflies, which act as a key pollinator in our growing food forest.

This GEM Avocado was planted last fall but has been struggling. In particular, the Chinese Rose Beetle has been shredding the leaves.

We just added some lights to hopefully keep them away at night and created a mini guild with the addition of pigeon pea and lemongrass surrounding. We also gave it some fertilizer, a little additional compost and mulch and hopefully we see a speedy recovery.

One more positive note, if you zoom in, you will see some fresh buds. Can’t wait for this to strengthen and further develop.

Cleaned up around some of the bananas around the property over the last few days. It’ll take a few days more still to get everything where we want them, but already they are looking much happier now; these should start to grow and thrive.

Digging up the invasive cane and other grasses is backbreaking, but the results are worth it. Trimming some of the older leaves to open the canopy and let some air in is also super helpful, along with getting rid of damaged and dead leaves.

We’ve posted the current (After) pics first, with what things looked like (Before) following those.
