We recently said goodbye to 4 wethers that went to a petting zoo. I’m glad they will get to have a fun life, getting all the loves and hugs from kids that get to enjoy them. ❤️

Our 7 year old is obsessed with her Silkies and asked if I could post some facts about them.

Their feathers lack barbicules, which hook the feathers together, giving them a more fur like coat.

Silkies have 5 toes on each foot, most breeds only have 4 toes.

They have black/mulberry skin, meat, and bones.

The doelings are going into their 13th week. Color doesn’t matter for shows but wow 🤩 Trying to decide what we are keeping to improve our herd is pretty hard right now.

Bailey (7 years old) has been busy learning all about her new chicken breed. 🥰 I’m getting excited for her to talk to the judge this year and tell him all she’s learned about her Silkies.

Who let the goats out?? 😁

Nice day so they are out eating some green grass and exploring the yard.

The babies are 9 weeks old and growing like weeds. The hardest part is wanting them to stay little but can’t wait to see them get bigger and see the progress we’ve made when they become mommas in 2028.

Day 8 and a quick candle session. We candled roughly 10 eggs and they all look like they have growth. We will candle again around day 14.

When morning chores turns into a surprise. Every once in a while we end up with some cute barnyard mixes.
