Or for beef: wccbeef.com THE RESULTS FOR 2013 ARE IN
We just took wean weights for 2013. The heifers averaged 680 pounds and the bulls 740 pounds. The top bull gained 3 pounds/day and was sired by Woodhill Foresight. The top heifers gained 2.9 pounds/day and was sired by TC Total 410. We preg checked and we had a 97% pregnancy rate. 5 open cows of

141 head. Of those five, two were the last two to calve last year, one was injured, and two of them were heifers that tested pregnant to an AI stud early on and then came back open. History:
Carl Willie bought the original home place of 150 acres in 1947. The fourth generation is just now starting to work on the farm. We’ve gradually grown to 800 acres of farm ground now, growing primarily alfalfa along with barley and corn. We’ve had as many as 350 head of mother cows but have scaled it down to between 100-125, allowing us to cull deep every year and produce a better product. We’ve been raising registered angus since the early 90’s. For more information go to williecattle.com

Thanks to the amazing talents of Auston Youngblood moving cows this last fall looks a whole lot more awesome than it actually was!
A few times a year cows have to be moved to different pastures. In the fall we take them back to the ranch to wean calves and check to see which cows are pregnant. It's an effort that requires all hands on deck, several motorcycles a feed wagon and a few cuss words. Somehow we once again managed to get them across the Highway and down the lane.

The weather finally warmed up a bit so we are hard at work here on the farm. We are practicing social distancing with the boys all running a different piece of equipment as we get the fields ready for the season. We hope you are all staying healthy and safe during these troubled times.

Because so many of you loved Cal, I wanted to share this page and post here. Loss is hard at any time, but it is especially felt during Christmastime. This would have been Cal's first Christmas home after serving his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To celebrate the life he lived and the example of service and kindness he was to so many of us, we want to spread that spirit this season. As you go about serving others like Cal would, please use the so we can see all the wonderful things that are being done. We want to eventually share all those things with Calvin's family on Christmas Eve. The page below has more information available.

Family is one of the most important things around here at Willie Cattle Company. Carl Willie bought the original home place of 150 acres in 1947. He worked the land with his sons. Tim took over the farm and worked alongside both of his sons, Kirk and Tom for many years. Now, members of the fourth generation of the Willie family are working on the farm. That’s something we are pretty proud of!
