Hey LA Friends!! I have a favor to ask- The ‘Bu needs YOU! 💪

THIS SUNDAY afternoon, grab a friend-and please show up to support the Malibu Fig Ranch from 2-5pm. (Next to Moon Valley Nurseries.)

The Fig Ranch is a pilar for the community and directly facilitates the recovery of fire victims and healing those with hurting hearts. 💕 Enjoy delish healthy organic biodynamic food, camaraderie, live music, sunshine and fresh air. Suggested donation is $25pp, but of course more will be welcomed to also support the Inspiring Children Foundation.

I know it’s a hike; I know it’s 25mph PCH PITA right now…but that’s exactly the problem and exactly why these things are at a critical crossroads of being able to carry on…vs. no longer able.

Make the effort for your neighbors; they’ve lost a lot.

Today’s post is about , not just grapes. I am grateful for my community, my tribe, my framily and blood. I want to say Thank You to all who have helped me still be standing here where I am today. And you have helped me to shed some heavy armor. Today, I am able to be open and share weaknesses without fear, for the first time in a long long time. Today, I am not afraid or ashamed to show my scars.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

A moment of : Hi! 👋 I’m Halfsies, your humble grape farmer, winemaker & Chief Instigator here at Synwav Viñedo.

Confession: I’m also a stage 4 cancer survivor, and have had multiple bouts of cancer-related life-threatening episodes. At one point, I was certified “paperwork official” to die within 6 months time. I spent the latter part of my 20s thinking I wouldn’t still be here by now, and statistically, I shouldn’t.

Well, looking death in the eyes so much, changes how you live. I work hard; play harder. Full sends or no sends! 😂 but really, I viscerally experienced the lesson early on in my life’s journey that every day could be my last, live with no regrets. And now, I’m blessed to live the rest of my life with this knowledge. Some people don’t get this perspective until their golden years; and sadly some never realize this until it’s too late.

The essence of Harvest is perfect *Timing* - (notice I didn’t say perfect ripeness?)

It’s a lot of walking the fields and carefully watching the grapes, singing them songs of love and abundance along the way. 💜🎶🎵🎶💜 (please put your favorites in the comments!)

With the threat of heavy rains and colder weather on the horizon, so much can go wrong…but so much can also go perfectly right!

Harvest is a time when many vineyards are waiting for peak ripeness, a fomula of measuring the Brix & a balancing act with the acidity. But this is the way of human minds and human hands attempting to control Nature’s divine and shape it according to our wishes. However, Harvest 2023 at Synwav Viñedo has brought a lesson: “We must learn to flow, allowing synchronicities to blossom.”

Wow! Vendimia 2023 = DONE!😵😮‍💨🥱💪💀& BIG NEWS- a special secret announcement about this year’s vintage & loads more BTS photos/vids coming all this week!

What an incredibly magical harvest & truely unforgettable VIRGIN pressing here for Synwav Viñedo! (The wine, that is…not me! 😂) I simply cannot contain my excitement about the wine that is being crafted🙊& am beyond honored that the land on this mountain responded to my spirit in this way.

AND I have a secret…🤫 this is going to be a legendary wine🍷 thanks to an extremely special, very RARE absolutely perfect alignment of conditions ✨💫✨can’t wait to reveal the details over the next few posts…

But for now, it’s time to finally take a breathe and just to let the mystery of Time work it’s wonders in the cellar…

Music is the lifeblood that sustains Synwav Viñedo! Looking forward to catching tonight at (& of course, we’ll be pregaming in Granada with some Andalucían tapas and vino🍷) What an incredible lineup! I just love that these talented artists are performing so close by! Autumn is here & I’m very excited to see southern Andalucía at the TOP of the list in Vogue’s “Most Underrated Wine Regions to Visit This Fall!”

Although Synwav Viñedo is not part of the “formal” sherry region, we are neighbors! The Contrviessa-Alpujarras has much of the same appeal, flavors, history and hospitality…& with uniquely beautiful countryside & views of the sea as our special treat!

Last but certainly not least, is Decommodification. We had so much to talk about with this one, and even more work to make this ethos a possibility, and we thank you all so much for joining us on this venture. This has been our first big undertaking as an exploration of the values this space wants to use as a framework, and to not only put it in writing but to share it with everyone who has seen and interacted with it has been a humbling, grounding, and encouraging experience. Thank you, and stay tuned for more things to come!
