Our cows are part of our family. Sadly this is what happens when folks don’t keep their dogs on their own property. Since spring there has been over 15 calves killed in the area by a few specific dogs. This is one of our steers one of the lucky ones as he survived only because I heard it happening and was able to intervene. This happened at the beginning of summer and thankfully he has healed up well. Unfortunately we did have to amputate his tail as it had been severed. He now goes by the name “Stubbs”

What is Wagyu? Let’s do some myth busting… all Wagyu bloodlines originated in Japan.. All Wagyu born and breed here in the states is referred to as American Wagyu. Kobe beef is Wagyu but not all Wagyu is Kobe beef.. Kobe is a providence in Japan.. you can only get Kobe beef from Kobe Japan that is shipped here to the states. Full blood Wagyu is 100% wagyu. Pureblood Wagyu is 98% or better. You can breed “up” to a pure blood Wagyu but full blood is full blood and can only be achieved by breeding fullblood to fullblood. American wagyu also comes in lower percentages… F1 means 1/2 wagyu and 1/2 “usually angus” F2 would be 3/4 and so on… unfortunately there is no set standard in labeling yet for Wagyu in the grocery stores so even thought it’s says “Wagyu” it may not be 100% wagyu.. if you buy local such as our ranch, you can choose F1, F2 or full blood Wagyu based on your budget and taste. Do your research and make sure you know what you are buying! We sell in 1/4 1/2 or whole sides. We also do some cuts and packages in retail form so contact us if your interested or just have questions!
